The Canon has announced their upgrade to the advanced amateur line, with the 650D / Rebel T4i. What is interesting is that it features two new technolgies for Canon DSLRs - namely a capacitive touchscreen (apparently the first ever on a DSLR) and a Dual AF which kicks during movie recording and live view mode, providing continuous autofocusing when used with Canon stepping motor (STM) lenses.
The touchscreen is very interesting - not only does it allow stuff like touch selection of focal points, but being a capacitive touchscreen (think iPad), you can do things like pinching and swiping to zoom or flick between different pictures in playback mode.
