HELLO EVERYONE, I'm a newbie to the site and to photography. To date I've been shooting with my camera phone (All photos posted taken with galaxy II phone) but the wife recently bought me a nikon d7000 for my 40th. Too excited and totally excited about learning how to make quality photos with it. All opinions and educational info would be gladly appreciated.

The first two pictures show that you are on a good start. Have fun using your new camera, and don't forget to show us your best work. If you're looking for honest critique, you can post in the Critique part of the forum, if you only want to showcase your work, there's a section for that as well.

Wow, nice work! What's the story on the ice shot, is that a tree?
I shoot with my iphone a lot, you can actually get great shots with smart phones these days plus the apps available can really help with the creative process!

Those are amazing photos! Thank you for sharing! I have been interested in Pnonography but am one of those people stuck on the idea that a phone surely can't create art. I know, I need to get out more.
