Joined shutter talk a little while ago then a couple of health problems but OK now just thought I'd introduce myself to you all. photography has been my passion all my life, my father gave me a Ilford 127 when I was a lad, first serious camera was a Pentax Spotmatic then went on to MX then LX then for some unknown reason I switched to Minolta when the Dynax 9 came out and bought the glass as well subsequently now with Sony and all my Minolta glass, Alpha 700 and Alpha 900 bodies. and a couple Ziess lenses as well as my Minolta primes, quite happy doing my landscaoes and equine photography.

Hi, welcome to shuttertalk! I've got a Pentax ME, and I still wish for an MX. Great little mechanical gem.
Hello,
Welcome to the digital photography forums! We are delighted you are here with us! At the top of the page in the left hand corner, do you see an option for User CP (control panel)? I have one with a pencil across a small box? If so, this is where your control options are for the site. Let me know if you need further help - thanks!

Hi,
You could have done worse than flirting with Minolta dude. I have a 7000 sitting on a shelf beside an Olympus OM 10 and still find the Minolta to be a great looking camera with some 'heft' and presence about it. She was an aging girl when purchased for me as a surprise some fourteen years ago, but she delivered some great photographs and kept my interest in photography alive enough to enter the DSLR age. I also have a pair of eight year old Minolta binoculars, and to be honest the optical quality never fails to impress anyone looking through them even now!
I'm a dyed in the wool Pentax man theses days (K10D & K30) probably because I never was a 'mainstream' type and have in fact fallen for the Pentax ethos, but if Minolta were still producing cameras, then in truth I'd still be purchasing them.
Look forward to exchanging with you over the distance dude.
Hi and welcome to shuttertalk PongoAlpha. I agree with Stikin2Pentax, I had one minolta before and regretting to accidentally leave it behind in one of our shoot in madrid. I guess that lucky person might have produce more great images than I. Anyway it gives me more creative composition and absolutely great image using it. Stick to it and make of it as your best friend in photography. Just my opinion
