I am also have become very interested in learning about Digital Art and I am wondering whether any of you out there know which program would be best for a beginner.

Hello Jean and welcome to shuttertalk. I would recommend the digital program in lynda training, they have other training there that is related to digital art. You have to pick what is you want to learn from their topics.
