Hi all from East Sussex.Not new to digital photography but still struggling with camera settings.Have Nikon D5000 + Tamron 70/300 lens +nikon18/55.
Use for airshow & family ,probably more aircraft than family!
Recently hired Sigma 120/400 lens & 1.4 converter,made me realise how naff my tamron lense is!
Hope to learn from newsletter & forum .

Welcome. Can't agree with the naff comment on Tamron Lens, use an 18/200mm, nothing else. Ed.
hi bud, i have D3100, with the 18-55mm and a sigma 70-300mm i thought my 55mm was naff, but then i found it was great for pics of my kids n family, sigma is great for distance shots within reason. maybe your tamron is better suited for wildlife nature than airshows..
just a thought.

Hi again,I,m not saying tamron lenses are naff,mine was very good when I first had it, but recently even after a £50 repair, at anything above 260 ish,the results are a little hit & miss,the sigma lens just confirmed what I suspected.

i thought maybe u bought a new lens for a purpose and felt it wasn't up for the job lol
