any advice for a macro lens for my canon 650d
WAY more information required.
Your question is like 'I've got a Ford Focus, what tires should I get?'
What do you intend to do with it?
Indoors?
Or Out?
Studio type work?

The Canon 100mm 2.8 is as good as they come, with or without IS, depending on wallet. Will also second as a longer portrait lens. Very pleased with mine.

In general probably you could take Deans' advice the Canon 100mm but when you're in a budget you could get the Tamron 90mm. Heard a lot of good reviews of it

Hi all I just bought a Sigma 105 and so far I think it's great. I read the reviews on the Canon macro 100 and also on the Sigma 70,105 & 150. the Sigma had way better reviews than the Canon plus the Sigma has a 7 yr warranty which should tell you something.

I have the Tamron 90mm macro lens - it is superb and every bit as good as Canon make. Mine gets used for landscapes as much as for close-up work.
