Hi,
I enjoy photography (obviously!) but don't get much time at the moment to pursue it, or much time at the pc on forums so I'll apologise now if people think me rude for not 'interacting' enough. I use a Pentax K5 with a variety of old and new lenses ranging from old Vivitar Komine 55mm macro Pk fit to Sigma 150-500 (all the gear and no ideaHuh). I look forward to posting and any criticism is welcome. I live on the Sussex coast and would gladly meet with others for the occasional outing for some much needed inspiration.
Dave
Hello Dave and welcome to shuttertalk Smile No you're not being rude. Just feel at home and some questions here or even post some images you really do want some critiques. In that way we could both learn and other members whats the right thing setiings or how should we do it next time it happen. It will be a fantastic learning curve for all of us here Smile
Thanks PhotoPlay, now all I have got to do is work out how to upload a photo (tried yesterday but it didn't work).
Dave
Hello and welcome! Please post and discuss when you have time - no problem if you are busy at times. We are a great group here and we also love to see what you have been up to when you can. The members are very helpful. Thanks for joining us!
Hi Dave, welcome to the forum. I must say I like the idea of photographic outings. Sussex is a bit of a long haul for me from North Shropshire but I think it's a great idea, perhaps we could get something going across the forum. how about it Barbara? Groups of members meeting up somewhere photogenic for a days shooting, swapping ideas and techniques and general chatter sounds ideal.
Keith,

The members here are welcome to gather and make a day of shooting some photographs. Feel free to post info for something in your area here in the forums. Another forum that I help with (crochet) the members are planning a get together in 2014 for a big event.

In this forum, people are from different parts of the world, so those posting about such an event would need to include more specific information about the get together. You are also welcome to let others know outside the forums about the event, too.

Hi Keith,
sounds like we may be starting something here. Maybe in the new year we could start a thread 'posting events in our areas' or ideas for places to visit. People can then decide if they would like to go (with or without other members)

Hi Barbara,
How about an 'events' section to post these threads, with maybe a few photos if members have been previously which would give others an idea of what to expect?
Dave
Dave,

There is a calendar section that can be used on the site. Also, for now I will be glad to stick a new thread to the top of one of the main forums about any pending events. If the thread becomes popular, I will discuss with the admin about an events section. How does that sound?

I think it would be a great idea for those interested in attending events in the same area. Let me know if you need any further assistance or have any questions!
