attachment=2638]I had been patiently waiting for an opportunity to capture this Gibbon and her baby on numerous trips to the zoo. My patience paid off, I finally got my moment. It's not the sharpest pic, but it has the awwww factor. I haven't had a chance to fix the shadow on the mother's arm, (photo was taken through a window), the software for that is on another computer. I may just crop it. Hope you enjoy it in spite of this, Pam.

I think it's a lovely photo, Pam
Your patience was well rewarded (IMHO)

I can't say if this donkey was wild or tame but he had quite a mean look!!.

Thank you Coachline. It's certainly not one of my better shots, but I was happy to get it nonetheless since they move so quickly.

Beautiful shot Coachline.
Pam & Coachline,
Both of you have produced a couple of well thought out and well executed shots. OK, so you have both tacitly implied 'less than perfection' in these shots. However, to get the shot itself, is often more important than outright perfection. In my book, you've both done the best you could in less than ideal circumstances, you got the shot and should be congratulated for doing so. So 'well done each of you'.
Regards.
Phil.
I assume birds are allowed in this category. Here's an eagle I recently shot. Pam

Phil, thank you. I was the one who implied my shot was less than, Coachlines is MUCH better, looks good to me. By the way, I love your little Buddy shots-what a cutie and such great photos! Phil J, that's also a great shot of your dog. Wonderful companions, aren't they? Pam
Here's another bird that I was hoping someone could identify for me. I haven't figured out how to post more than one picture at a time on these threads, so please bear with me. Pam

Pam,
Both of these are beautiful. Well done, you have obvious talent which comes through each time you post something new. Where on earth did you get the opportunity to get the picture of that Eagle? It, like the picture is stunning.
Thanks very much for your kind comments about Buddy. We've now had him one month and he's growing and becoming more confident every day. Thankfully, he has 'made himself at home' in his new environment. It was a worry of mine when we picked him up, that he'd pine for his Mum and brothers and sister, which, for a couple of nights he did when it was bedtime, but he's just fine now.
Regards.
Phil.

Phil, thank you for your generous compliment, I certainly admire your photos. The eagle photo was taken at the Toledo Zoo in Ohio where they have a facility for injured eagles that cannot be rehabilitated and put back in the wild. They had two, one recently died from liver complications. The other one is missing his/her left eye. On my last visit there the zookeepers told us that they are in the process of acquiring another eagle, it may be there on my next visit. Fortunately this area is set up where you can get quite close to the birds depending on where they are perched, sometimes 15-20 feet away from them. I think I may have even crisper shots that haven't been loaded on my computer yet. Glad to hear Buddy is settling in nicely. I'm sure your warm welcome has a lot to do with it.

I have one final post for this category then I'm going to stop-otherwise I'll be here all day! NOTE: After posting I noticed how bad this photo looks when resized, can't figure out how to delete-will send a better version.

Let me try this again. Not sure why the first chimp picture isn't as clear as it is on my home computer-perhaps resized too small? This one is a bit larger and hopefully shows better.

Thank you Pam and Phil for your kind comments.
I was going to post the donkey last week but I didn't think it was up to the high standard of the others already there.
Pam, your birds are excellent.

Coachline.

Hi Gary, I'm fairly new to posting on this site and am still in the process of trying to navigate my way around, but I can help you with step by step clicks for you to add your photos. First, I click on NEW REPLY at the bottom of the last post on the last page. It will take you to a screen where you can then post a comment about your picture. Underneath that click on BROWSE, and double click on the file you want to add. Next click ADD ATTACHMENT (to the right of Browse). You can then preview your post, but make sure to click POST REPLY to finish. Happy posting!

Hi Coachline,
Your Donkey picture #79? looks like the Donkey equivalent of 'Dirty Harry', all that's missing is the Remington .44 Magnum.

Altogether a very expressive picture. You should feel proud to have captured it.
Regards.

Coachline, again thank you for your kind comments. Don't be too hard on yourself, I personally think your donkey shot is excellent as well, and I LOVE your picture of Molly. (I'm a dog lover). We're all at different levels of photography on this site. I posted the gibbons knowing they were a little fuzzy. I have other photos that are technically better, but some, like the gibbons, simply make my heart smile. I'm an amateur, many members here have photos better than mine. We're here to share and learn, I hope to enjoy the ride and look forward to seeing more of your photos.

Pam
Great photos everyone!

Korry, love your shot. Great composition. He/she has a "just dare me" look as if ready to pounce at a moments notice. I just noticed your earlier post, what type of animal is that? Looks like a cross between a cat and fox. I had trouble with photos loading when I first found this thread so I missed some on the first few pages. Pam
Hello all, I hate to bother you but yesterday when I posted a picture of a chimp after the download it looked bad. Everything but a small area on his face was pixelated? (lots of small squares), so I reposted it. Today I was going to copy that first photo to ask someone for advice as to why it looked like that, and today that same picture is now clear. Very odd. Has this happened to any of you before?
When I viewed the picture yesterday, it looked just fine. We have not really had anyone say on the forums, they have had issues with this that I am aware of. I am not 100% computer savvy, but my first thought would be making sure there are not any issues with the computers graphic card? Any other comments would be appreciated from those who are more informed with possible technical issues when it comes to viewing photos online.

Hi Pam
If you're using a Windows pc: Sometimes when you've been using it for a while, doing different things, the memory gets used up. That may account for the chimp looking pixelated on your pc (but fine on everyone elses). Switching off and on again would release the memory. If you're using a Mac, I have never used one myself and cannot offer any suggestions.

Coachline.
