I am from southern Ontario, Canada but spend the winters in Mission, Texas. I have been enjoying photography for about 7 years. Just got a Canon 7D and have a Sigma 18-250, and 150-500, Canon 50mm 1.8, Canon 100 Macro, and extension tubes and just got an external flash that I am trying to master. I also enjoy birding, shuffleboard and pickleball. I have not settled on any one aspect of photography, but love trying to capture birds and working with my macro lens. I also like to work on abstracts and work mostly with Elements 11. I hope to learn how to improve my photography from this forum and look forward to submitting pictures for critiquing. I look forward to meeting everyone here at Shutter Talk. Cheers!
Hi. We have roughly the same kit, except I have a Canon 60D. Same lenses though. Got so say I haven’t used my big lens as much as I had hoped. Looking forward to seeing some of your shots. Sounds like you migrate with the birds.
Hello Dean.
I am just learning to navigate this forum, so hope this gets back to you. (Yet to figure out how to create a signature). I almost purchased the 60D as I know from reading that it is a great camera. I chose the 7D for its rapid shot capabilities. It is a heavy camera, but does the job. I managed to get to England a year ago and enjoyed it very much. We stayed at B&B's and rented a car..that was an experience and a half...boy are the roads narrow out in the countryside! LOL! But we had fun and saw a lot of the south end, moors, etc. We do travel south with the birds, so to speak! LOL! The Rio Grande Valley is known for its birding and we have many State Parks, etc. close by. Back up in Ontario we are right on one of the biggest migration paths in north America with great parks to take go and take pics of warblers and hawks, etc. Thanks for dropping by my 1st thread and making me feel welcome! Cheers!

Thanks Barbara! I went there and there are 3 options, Change password, Change email, Change Avatar. I think I remember seeing it when I filled everything in, but forgot to do it. Now, that said, I see below where I am typing here that there is the option to include signature beside "post options". I will click on it and send this message and see if it takes me where I need to go...

Thanks a bunch Barbara!
