I have been into SLR (film and digital) since the early 1970s - Yes, I'm an old fogey!
I've always used Canon gear and never had anything go wrong with any of my quite extensive list of equipment.
I quite like urban, candid street photography as well as local gigs - bands etc. and taking pictures of freinds and family - especially my gorgeous little grand daughter.
Of course, like everyone else, I enjoy recording my holidays with photographs.

Hi Colin, welcome, I am a newbie also, only joined today. I live in Tamworth so not a million miles from you either.
I am using Fujifilm SL1000, mainly like landscapes, holiday pics.

Well, Colin, there are a number of 'old fogey's' here by your definition.
Including me. I've been shooting since '68. Olympus OM's for most of that time.
Got into digital about 10 years ago, and just moving to do it full time (I'm retiring from civil service next month).

[u]Hi Phil., unlike you and Ed., I go back BEFORE 1950, in fact I can remember the Festival of Britain, (1951?). I think that that well and truly qualifies me as an 'old fogey!!!!
Can't quite beat that. I was born the year Queen Elizabeth II came to the throne, on Elvis Presley's 17th birthday, David Bowie's 5th birthday and my Dad's 28th birthday.
