DSLR Photography Forum

Hi, I'm a legal alien (Brit) living in Michigan.

I started in photography with my first camera at around the age of 12 (Instamatic 104). I then progressed over the years to a Yashica FR, which I eventually sold to finance a family.
A couple of years ago I bought a new DSLR (Nikon) after many years of point & shoot.
While always having (in my mind) an 'eye' for a picture, I've never really delved into the technical side of things.
Hence I've joined up and am here to learn.

Attached is one of the first shots taken with the Nikon. It's of Cass Lake, Oakland County, Michigan.

A quick question, what's the size limit (kb) for attachments?

Hey Kevin, welcome to ShutterTalk! What kind of Nikon do you use? There are a couple of us "Nikoners" here

I think the photo limit is 1MB, but I don't know for sure. If you want to post one at high resolution you can always use a photo sharing service or a cloud storage service.

The photo you posted is awesome, I can tell you're going to like it here!

I have a D5100 with 18 - 55mm and 55 - 200mm kit lenses, a Nikon 35mm f/1.8G prime, a Sigma 10 - 20mm f/4 - 5.6 and a Tamron 18 - 270mm f/3.5 - 6.3.
