Hi, I am from Ohio. I have just started with DSLR camera. I always used the Point and Shoot and now have a Canon Rebel. I have taken a couple photography 101 classes. I have seem to be able to use the manual setting for still life and landscape but struggle with people. Hoping to submit some photos and get suggestions from the more experienced members. Thanks for any suggestions ahead of time.
I tried to post my first picture but need to learn how to compress it. Any ideas?
Hi debistarkey, welcome to ShutterTalk!
The way I compress photos is simply open them in MS Paint and resize them. Hope this helps.
Hello and welcome to the forums! Nice to have you here. I also open mine in paint and resize them, just to let you know. Thanks for joining us!
hello Debistarkey,
Welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of helpful advice here - just ask. To resize my images, I reopen them in photoshop and then save them at the smaller file size. It takes less than 2 minutes. I'm looking forward to seeing some of your images.

I use Fastone Image Resizer a great free program with many options.
Fastone Image Viewer is also good, I often find myself using it for quick corrections rather than my Photoshop.

Joe.
