I received an email today about a job offer for a photo shoot. Thing is, the offer was photos in exchange for credit (and possible jobs in the future).
I've had similar offers in the past and I always try to be polite. I always use a variation of this script. "Hi, thanks for your interest in my photography. I am honored. Unfortunately, the value of the photographs I will be creating for you requires more than credit since I will incur costs creating the shots. How about if I get your premiere page ad space in your (magazine, blog, website) for a year, in exchange for the photos. That will sound like a fair deal don't you think?". I usually get no replies after that
Do you have similar experiences? Have you exchanged photos for just name credit before?
