Hi,
I've been receiving the Shuttertalk newsletter for a while now and thought it was about time I took the plunge. I should say that this is my first experience of an online forum!
I've always had an interest in photography, but it's been mostly family and holiday snaps. I now have more time on my hands and am finding photography an incredibly absorbing and satisfying hobby. I wonder if I am alone though in feeling slightly overwhelmed at times by the pace of technical development. My old Nikkormat was pretty much the only camera I ever owned before my current DSLR and the 30 year old 50mm lens still works fine in the digital era. Thank you Nikon! I know that I am using only a fraction of my camera's capabilities and it's the same with Lightroom, which I am slowly getting to know, but maybe that's how it is for most people. The trick, I guess, is not to let the technology get in the way of just going out and taking pictures.
I'm really looking forward to joining in your discussions and taking advantage of all the experience out there.
Rob
