Wink I have been using a Nikon D3100 for the last 3 years, and always saved images as jpeg.
Very recently (XMAS present) I stretched my budget to a Nikon D5200. with which I propose to capture Raw images. I have looked at various software options, and again the budget comes in, so I decided to download (FOC) NXD from Nikon.
I have printed of various items from the help file, which I personally found very
easy to understand. when I have had some practice with it I will put some pics up

Welcome to the forum Richard. I am fairly new here and also a Nikon user. I have had the D300 and the D90 for several years and always shoot NEF raw thereby making full use of the Capture NX and View NX2 software. Look forward to seeing some of your images.
