Down at the flood ravaged banks of the Elbow River,... I found some uprooted trees left behind by the passing waters... I've tried to get my head round natures abstracts... I do like texture, so thought these might be good subjects?

Thank you Ed!

I'll second Ed on those images. No negative critique from me and a very interesting choice of subject.
My brother used to collect shore driftwood and sell it to floral decorators as bases for their arrangements.

Another great series, if I was going to change anything it would maybe move in tighter on the first one. Fantastic textures on these.
These are good images as they are, Rolf. And they are also great for playing around with mono conversions, e.g. -

Much better for my eye, that big flat rock near the top kept pulling me away from the tree roots.

Smile Where in California are you? Do you ever get north of the Border?

Kind regards

Rolf
I'm in Central California, just south of Yosemite. Furthest North I have been is Seattle a couple of times for vacation.

We thought of coming to Yosemite last year! Went to Portland instead having followed the coast from Seattle. If you do venture north to the Canadian Rockies... let me know? Great photo opportunities...

3 great shots Rolf, especially the third one. The wide aperture sends the background beautifully out of focus.
Also liked Mr B mono conversion. Well done.
Thanks Webber, appreciate you taking a look and commenting
