Here is one reasonable image, from Saturday's shoot. I feel it could be a lot better though. What advice can you guys give me?

John there are some lovely tones in here, but the file size, 175b, makes it a bit restricted to work on. Here are a couple I see as potential. Cheers. Ed.
Another shot after teatime. Bit of HDR? Ed.
Perhaps a cooler white balance, then work with the brightness, contrast, colours, saturation and sharpness, to enhance the image. E.g. An edit in PaintShop Pro X8 -

Nice images guys. The sky was that pinky orange, same as the previous seascape I posted. The white of the tanker is spot on, but I reduced the colour temperature and the saturation of the sky, in line with previous comments. It is walking that thin line between accuracy, and a great image, that is the struggle.
