Here is an entirely different treatment of one of Scotland's favourite castles. What would you make of this?

Nikon D80, 1/125 sec, f11, ISO 200, 42mm lens equivalent.
How about cropping away much of the fairly dazzling and uninteresting sky, then making the background look more like dismal weather, then bringing the castle out from the gloom. E.g. -

Both images are an improvement on mine. Ed's is a bit artsy, but I do like the cloud effect. Very West Highlands.

Great subject, are you close enough to it to visit regularly, that location for me could produce a different image every visit, now you have your filter system sorted an ND grad or two might just have improved the sky and balanced the foreground, Mr B's is the one I prefer.

Unfortunately not. It's a 400 mile round trip!
