High summer here in Scotland. Sun shining, blowing a gale.

Very good, John - lovely old stonework.

What do you think about cropping off that newer-looking block on the right hand side?

Don't you think it kind of spoils the look of the gable end and leaves the road signs awful close to the edge of the picture?

Interesting talking about the "newer-looking block". They are only new compared with the 425 year old gate! Renovated, but not new.

It might be a renovated old block but, to me, it looks out of character in your first photo, John. Perhaps the solution is to brave the traffic, and get the shot from about 5 yards further right, including just the first gable end. Exclamation Smile

Yes. I suppose "blowing a gale", at St Andrews, will come as no surprise to the golfers out there.
