Here are a few photos I have taken through my kitchen window. What do you think?
Robin - f5.6, 150 sec. ISO 400, 250mm focal length
Starling - f/18, 1/20 sec, ISO 400, 250mm focal length
3rd photo - f/16, 1/3 sec. ISO 200 300mm focal length
Regards Jane
Love the Robin and the Male Starling shots, the background is nicely blurred out and they are nicely composed. The middle one feels a little busy for my eye. Nice and sharp considering the extra layer of glass you are shooting through.
Nice set, I like what you've done.
Three excellent shots. If I was being picky I would say that the background in the middle one could have been a little darker. But that is being picky. I would be proud to have taken any one of the three.
3 goodies, the middle needed a bit of tarting up, to me. Might buy a garden, super Jane. Cheers. Ed.
Excellent!

I love all of your shots, specially like the way you have used the background here. Great shot Jane!
Well taken, Jane, with good focus where it matters. The first has veered a bit towards magenta tones, but the colours in the other two look quite natural. Perhaps also increase the brightness of the first and add a touch of extra contrast to all three, e.g. -

Thank you for your comments. Does this one look better to you. I am still getting to grips with this post processing thing

Thank you. I was practising with my new lens through a double glazed window, didn't think they came out too bad

Thank you John. I have posted another take of one of them. Comments please.

Thank you Ed. Like what you have done with the background (how did you do that, when I tried it looked like I had cut the bird out and stuck on the photo with the edge not being blurred properly). Still learning this post processing. The bird in your photo looks blue on my screen though, might be just me. You should certainly buy a garden - if only a window box

Thank you for your comments Philip. I didn't notice the magenta cast until after I posted it. Is this one better?

Yes Jane. However, I forgot to mention the little orange thing on the stone. It kept distracting me from the robin, so I removed it - what do you think?
Cheers.

Jane I use P/S CS4E, segregate the bird with quick selection tool, some pics are easier than others, inverse, via Select, then blur with lens blur.
This pic lends itself to it, best of the 3 I think. Cheers. Ed.
