I have had a variation of this image as my wallpaper on my computer for several months and have looked at it, long and hard, with a view to how could I improve it. I went back to the original edit, and using Lightroom, and my new found confidence, came up with the version I have posted here. What would you have done differently?

It is understandable that you would want to view this every day, John - it is a magnificent sight.
However, as you asked for different suggestions, for me the sky is over-powering the scene, in both size and intensity, but I like the interesting foreground. Perhaps consider a modest reduction of the general colour saturation, and a composition that gives more prominence to the majestic structure. To see the effect, fill your screen with a crop the same aspect ratio from the bottom of the image upwards, to leave out some of the sky and also to exclude the buildings left and right. The bridge is then positioned above half-way in the frame, giving the illusion that the viewer is looking more upwards at it, and so is more aware of its height and its dominance of the landscape.

Taking on board what you guys have said, here is my revised take on the image. I cropped the image to my screen resolution (1920 x 1080) to allow me to include a bit more of the houses. I have kept the foreground saturation as was but have applied a graduated filter to the sky to lighten it. I liked my take on the foreground saturation. It emphasises the early morning light.

John, I feel the hills behind should be prominent. This is not the best quality, did a fair bit to it, and, from a small file. Great shot. Ed.
