Here is an image I am quite pleased with. I say "quite", as it could been a bit better framed. However, as it is unlikely I will go back and reshoot it, how would you improve it?

Nikon D80, 1/350 sec, f11, ISO 250, 30mm lens equivalent.

Shows that the D80 is fine at ISO 250, provided the lighting and subject contrast are good.
John, it is a lovely scene, and I would guess that exposing for the clouds has caused the rest of the image look a bit dark for the bright day. So, if it were mine, I would lift the mid tones and reduce the saturation slightly.

my take on this
I like them all. All different. I had thought about the monochrome approach myself, because of the lovely clouds.
Wonderful image, I miss the Little Fishing harbours and villages back home, always a great place to shoot. I'm on the wrong side of the country for anything like that over here.

The only change I might make is to slightly crop the bottom enough to eliminate the piece of the dock in the bottom right.
That was pretty much what I was thinking, given the limitations of the shot. I have also trimmed a smidgen off the RH edge, so as not to get too "letterbox".

Hi John

Looking at your original, what impresses me is that at F11 you have everything beautifully and perhaps surprisingly sharp. I leave the others to comment on editing - I always appreciate their contributions in the area - nut that aside, I found it a very pleasing photo.

Cheers
