Trying out my panning technique, a couple of shots where I hope I've caught the sensation of speed, 1/125 F11 ISO 800 200mm
Great settings, as is the result. Ed.
They're both great, and both give the sensation of speed. I prefer # 1 because the background is cleaner, the car is smaller and has more room in the frame, and also because the car itself is a bit more wacky! Although the car in #2 is massively interesting too, that first one is just wonderful.
Both superb shops with fine panning technique.
I prefer #1 as well, and for the same reason as Derek. I think cloning the grass, to remove the sandy bit at the top, may improve the image.
The panning has been done very well to convey the sensation of speed, and the first image is better in my view also. The lighting appears to have been quite poor, making the images quite flat and dull - perhaps consider experimenting overall with brightness, contrast and colour, plus sharpness of only the car and driver, to enliven them in image software?
