The lantern is my style, but there are others who find frames, distracting.

Nicely composed, Wes - and perhaps the image could have taken in even more of the lantern and building on the left side, but that would depend on what else was there. The foreground greens are a bit too intense for my taste, but it has a lovely sky.
Cheers.

I am beginning to think, that is just Bermuda.

You could be right, John, but it does look OTT to me! One of the members of the local photo club drew my attention to a similarly coloured lawn in one of my prints, referring to it as "Sellafield green". I'm sure you'll understand!

This reminds me of William Eggleston for some reason. Not sure why - maybe just the colours as the main event type thing:

My back was against the wall when i took this shot. The lantern was mounted on a wall to the left of me,to get the whole lantern in i would have to show the wall that the lantern is mounted on ,thats not what i wanted...Wes

I think it's really good to have something in mind - i.e. here the "...what I wanted" - and to go out and get it. That's a far better methodology than the click and hope and see what I've got methodology that I end up doing too often. My best shots have also come from thinking about it in advance, although I don't do it often enough.
If I'm honest the lantern doesn't do it for me - but that's irrelevant as we all have a different vision and as you've stated you specifically set the shot up according to your vision not mine. But, nevertheless, I agree with Mr B, a little more of the lantern, lantern post/building would have been nice (I know you've already addressed the rationale here). I do think framing in a picture works well, it's just here the lantern doesn't add anything but also forces you to include the entire top half of the photo (everything to the right of the lantern) where there's nothing happening. You could crop to the top of the house and still have plenty of the nice sky / light in there.
Secondly, there's a nice diagonal that runs down the roof and across the tree line. This becomes much stronger in a cropped version.
Lastly, I'd think about cloning out the bikes (if that's what they are) leaning up against the house as they seem out of place / context.
Very rough and ready but this is how I see it:

I've also shaved a little off the bottom. But as I said none of this matters - it's just discussion points. The fact you had a vision and went out and found it makes your results the strongest and most real of all.
