Pentax K5, f10, 1/400sec, ISO400, Sigma 150 - 500mm @ 500mm
These are very good captures - well-composed, dynamic angles, good prop movement. What do you think about increasing contrast and sharpness to make the image pop a bit more?

Thanks MrB
Sometimes the pilots oblige by banking right over where I stand sometimes not.

Hi Phillip
I think it's getting fringing on the edge of the Aircraft now and I don't like things over sharp as it detracts from the image, I would like a Phase one Camera but my wife would divorce me ! Still on a positive note you get a cracking image from it. !
I can hear the engines, great. Personally I would go a bit further than Philip, even more poke. Sharpness, after the pic was taken never existed all my working life, had to be, in camera. Sharpness is detail, anyone can take pics, you will take sharp pics, was dunned into me. So! Ed.
I love the third picture - the Hurricane coming towards us from the left. The angle is lovely with the wings creating an almost perfect diagonal from bottom left to top right corner.
I prefer it as is - no sharpening or contrast or saturation increase. I think it's superb as it comes.
I like the originals best. I would probably have followed Philip's lead but I don't feel it improves it, just changes it. Ed's rendition is a great "record" of a Hurricane but loses the feel of the day.

To be honest I've been having issues with the Sigma 150 - 500 with sharpness & focus, I've even been manually focusing as the Lens seems so slow or worse it hunts for focus, I thought it was a Pentax problem but I was chatting to a guy with the same lens on a Nikon and he was having the same problems a 500mm Prime would be nice but Expensive.
Love the original images, always have been a fan of the Hurricane, always felt it was the spitfires shy sister. Different planes for different roles though.
