Hello Wes.  This is a pleasing composition but the lighting is a mystery - perhaps it was an artistic choice.  The short shadows would indicate that the strong sun was high in the sky, and yet most of the scene looks quite dark but with a foreground that appears to be floodlit or flashed.  The result is, of course, a matter of personal preference.  Mine would be to have more balanced lighting, as I imagine that my eyes would  have seen.

Hello Philip,Shot was taken about 11am,no flash was used and no editing was done.The waters shoreline is surrounded by trees though.The tide is extremely low too...thanks,...Wes
