My neighbour has just been round.

She dumped an Olympus C220 on me. It wont take any pics. Seems that the flash is malfunctioning. Constant flashing amber light in viewfinder.

Have checked

Menu functions
Batteries
Card and contacts

Cant think of anything else!

Does anyone know of this camera? Does it have a reputation for flash problems?

HELP!!!!!
Try a google search Ruf. That seems to work for me most of the time.
Funny, my co-worker and I had the very same problem yesterday with his Vivitar plastic-cheapo-cam and I couldn't for the life of me figure out why it wouldn't take any pics. The flash led just kept flashing and flashing.

Maybe leave the batteries out overnight so it "resets" itself...

Google is another option. Big Grin
Does it also have a small battery to hold settings? Some cameras have a recessed button to reset the camera to factory default.
Het Shuttertalk, Maybe you could talk to the ricoh people about the vivitar issue. They are the Aussie distributors and maybe they know what it could be.

Olympus would be the 1st place I'd try for troubleshooting on the C220. Did you have any luck Rufus?
Hm... yeah, thanks for the advice mic.

I don't think I can be bothered though... it's one of those reeeaaally /cheap/old ones - doesn't even have a lcd screen. Big Grin
