Great candid shot, works very well in black and white.

I do feel it could work better with a little boost to contrast if that can be achieved without losing detail in the guys clothes.
Great shot irma. I like it a lot. I would of liked to of seen the rest of the sign above the door way, or just crop it out.

That was my problem, they wore black clothes and the trousers of the guy were blended in the background.... I had to make the whole picture pale and work with select colors and then contras a bit.... I will try making a selection of the wastebin, perhaps it works. Smile
Thanks a lot for your comment Bob Smile
Here is my go at it. I cropped and sharpened it.

I made a copy layer of the image. I erased the paints in the copy then did usm on the copy. That way the paints are unaffected by the sharpening

Teddy.
Great shot Irma. I personally like your version with the sign above the doorway. Even if it is cut off a little it adds to the image.
Well done! Smile
Thanks a lot for your comments and advice. Smile
I thought it ended up a little on the pale side and thought that the background was a little distracting so gave it a bit of and "older" less sharp (noisy) feel.

What do you think?
I like the (noisy) feel, but in that case I would preferred in sepia... I will try. Their dresses are conservative, perhaps in sepia and some noise I could end up with a nice old picture, as another variation Smile

Thanks Peted Smile
I agree completely with you, I was not completely happy with what I did. With the title you gave it I just thought that the couple should stand out a bit.
Wow, awesome candid, Irma! I love the photojournalistic quality to it, and you've captured them at the right moment. Well done!
