Here's another assignment idea from our pal Rufus: "I name multiple subjects, and you choose 3 for a composite."
Interesting eh? Here are a list of 12 objects and adjectives. Try to get a composite of 3 in your image! Bonus points for more!
Yellow
Brick
Heavy
Sad
Bottle
Thick
Man
Cloth
Fluttering
Shoe
Sand
Rope
Upload your photos to the gallery
here, and here but also post a small copy in this thread so we can all comment on them.
Ow!
I thought you'd forgotten this one ST.
Btw, sorry I'm so grumpy today.
Well my 2nd personality never forgets a thing. Too bad he's only around 1/2 of the time.
Hey, I'm sure the grumpiness adds to your charm...
When you say composite of multiple subjects, I'm thinking of items brought together in post-processing, or at least having all such "subjects" in the frame. But is "fluttering" a subject? What if I've got a yellow cloth fluttering in the wind - that's ONE subject, isn't it? Or does that fit the assignment? I don't see how it becomes a "composite."
Please clarify.
Hey it is a bit confusing isn't it? I guess you're looking at it from the point of view of composite of subjects, whereas I interpreted as a composite of ideas. And also, I was thinking of capturing a composite image, while you're thinking of photoshopping a composite. I think I added to the confusion as well by naming "objects" as well as "adjectives" as subjects.
But not to fear - I think each one can be a subject in its own right. Just pick three and incorporate it into your image. If you're after a challenge, feel free to create a composite of three "objects". If you're after a twist, do it without photoshop. I'll add a couple more objects into the mix, just to give everyone a bit more inspiration.
Oh, and like I said before - bonus points if you can get more than three into the image.
As spring is here, and a few day ago I bought some flowers to plant. I started to work that day, but I didn't finish. At the end of the day, when I collected everything for my next day in the garden, I saw a nice composition for a picture. Actually, I wanted to post it in the Critique forum, but I didn't. Anyway, reading this assignment, I realized that in my picture I had few thing that were mentioned. I took another picture just few minutes ago, and it turned better because that part of the garden was still in the shade.
So my picture has yellow, bottle, brick and cloth (gloves?).
Gardening
Now then.
Take 3 or more objects and incorporate them into one picture. This may be by actually having them in frame to start with, OR by PS layers etc.
The result can be abstract, but need not be.
Bonus biscuits are awarded for:
1/ Additional objects
2/ A theme which fits an adjective listed here
3/ Both the above.
HOWEVER, "group" MUST be interpreted as forming a CLEARLY related group, rather than a simple heap of objects.
Personally, I shall avoid "group" like the plague.
Clear as mud?
Ask a Mod. No, wait! Ask an APE!
Can someone explain the rules in English, please? I don't understand a bloody word! :o
Is there a prize this month?

Produce an image incorporating three or more of the subjects.
You can take a photo with the words in them, or photoshop them together.
Translated in German thanks to Babelfish:
Produzieren Sie ein Bild, das drei enthalten oder mehr der Themen. Sie können ein Foto mit den Wörtern in ihnen oder das zusammen nehmen photoshop sie.
Apologies if I've mucked up the concept, Rufus - I think next time I better get you to write the assignment description and rules
Toad, no prizes for this assignment, just admiration, praise and critique from your fellow Shuttertalkers. Next month though, there might be... and in June there definitely will be. I'm working with Camera Farm on an ongoing thing, so fingers crossed.
No.

Mod!!! He said BLOODY!

Surely that is clear? Why not? Afflicted by cat dander no doubt. :o

Yes. Then no cat fancier will understand at all!!!

Prize: EOS 20D???? Who said that? :|
Well I'm sorry. I was confused because after Irma posted her picture, Rufus explained the rules again, with a newly introduced concept (a bit muddy IMO) of
groups.
If Irma's picture is ok, then I think I understood. If not, would somebody explain it too me very slowly?
Doooh!
Yes, Irma's photo (taking a photo with the required elements in it) is fine.
And here's where the confusion lies:
If someone else wants to take three separate photos and photoshop them together into one image, then that's fine too.
I guess just make sure you explain what you did. By the way, I'm removing the term "group" - it's too confusing.
Sorry again for the confusion. Is that better? If not, send me a PM G... I fear we'll confuse everyone further.
TBH, I'm confused too. ... ... ...
Or I think I am.
Anyway, I shall find some objects and make a stew with them. Sickness following ingestion is optional.
Probably.
:o
Ps.
Remind me to get NN to write down my ideas. They may make more sense that way. :/
I think what has happened here to cause confusion is too many cooks in the kitchen. Please, lets keep these things simple. I am sure people have been scared away from this one.
Irma, very nice.
Looks like a pic in a gardening catalog advertising spring. Great concept and good job.
Kind of small though. :/

Relax dog!
Sorry. all I have is a muzzle. That should do though.
How many points do I get if I manage to take a photo of a sad man wearing sand-shoes on brick pavers, fluttering a heavy cloth with a thick rope while drinking a bottle of yellow drink?
(starts looking for a yellow drink, heavy cloth and somebody to hold the camera)
