with the proper tools and experience, it can be done while voiding warranty

Well if I were to buy one it wouldn't be in the near future, A lot will change by the time I have the money to buy my next camera (possibly a DSLR) after I get my Laptop =)

Actually, I've just realised that you may all be interested in something I have here.
It's a "better-beamer", or flash extender. I use it to take flash pics from one end of the cchurch to the other, (a fair distance), while using a 300mm lens.
The gadget is simply a fresnel lens on two arms, which clips onto my flash. It produces a powerful spot of light, so obviously one needs to use it with care. At short range it's positively dangerous!!
