Thanks, shuttertalk. Smile I'm trying to approve my skills all the time. Smile
Just thought I would introduce myself here. I am relatively new to owning a digital camera, so I have a lot of learning yet. I have a Fuji S7000 and the basic goodies to go with it. It is a nice camera, but I have a long way to go to learn all of the features and what can be done with it. No photo gallery for me yet, but will have one soon.

I will be traveling to the Philippines in January, so I'm hoping that will lead me to some awesome shots to being my gallery with. Maybe I'll have something sooner.

This looks like a neat forum, and I look forward to learning and seeing everyone's work.

How rude of me - I should have done this earlier.

My name is Ray - I am a Computer Engineer (Servers & Infrastructure)

I'm a very young 41, I have a 6 year old daughter..

After many years of bad mouthing digital photography I have recently woken up and smelt the coffee.

I have my own darkroom which doubles as a study/computer room all in a 6'.5" x 6'.5" space.

I never have enough time to get out there and get snapping.

Curent gear is Nikon F55 with 2 x lenses, Olympus OM1 with several lenses, Centon K200 with several lenses, Panasonic Lumix FZ20 (love it, love it, love it!), Olympus Camedia 2040 Zoom, and about another 2 or 3 SLR bodies and lenses that people have given me over the past couple of years.

Finally I am not really a Bishop - although I have been to Sligo many times.
Hi all, my name is Steve, 29yrs old and i'm from Manly in Brisbane, Queensland. I've had a passing interest in Photography for quite a while now, have recently purchsed a Fuji S5600 to "get into" photography as a hobby. Looking forward to posting some pics, learning various methods of the art and hopefully gaining some experience and most importantly having a chat online........

cheers

G'day Steve - welcome! I had a Fuji S5000 and was pretty happy with it overall. Hope you enjoy your stay - feel free to ask any questions...

How well does the anti-blur technology work I wonder?

Hi John!

How far east in Ontario? I'm in the exact center of Canada - Toronto - and there are a couple of other Canadians kicking around, as well. Welcome to Shuttertalk.
Welcome to Shuttertalk John. Good to see another frost-bitten Canadian boy here. Smile
Hi John, and welcome to Shuttertalk! That's interesting - I worked for HP Consulting Australia for 5.5 years... Big Grin

Looks like we've got something in common! Big Grin
Nice to see friendly folks here and some Canucks too. Smile I opened memberships at several places in the past, but I quit visiting most of them due to poorly moderated forums. So far the friendliest place I find on the Web is photozo.com. Sometimes it is too slow there, so I decided to look some more. Couple of questions; Do we have a gallery here, or we just have to import the links from other sites? What is the maximum number of images and size I can post in one thread?

Regarding the Winter, it is actually a very mild one this season. The big snow from last weekend's blizzard is already gone, (melted). Expecting an early Spring this year which I can't wait for. Many nice birds will show up!
I see several members here from Down-under, actually more than in other forums. Is this server located in Australia? Noticed it loaded a lill slow last night, but today was better.

John
The site does originate from Oz as does our admin. There is a gallery. The link is at the top of the page. Go ahead and fill'er up.Smile

I've seen on the news that T.O. is getting some mild weather.+15 in January is a little unheard of but you know as well as I do that there more white stuff to come. I'm originally from the Toronto area so I'm no stranger to the muck.Smile
