"How to lose £500,000 in a week"

What nonsense is this?

Well, our town decided to stage an "arts" festival.
It (the council), organised the event, booked some very expensive acts, and waited......................................

Nothing happened. No-one bought the £25 a time ($50) tickets, to go to an unknown town to see these acts.

So, the council dropped the price to £18.............. Nothing.

They dropped the price to £11.............................. Nothing

They dropped the change totally then, and people took as many tickets as they could, totally free.
Then, some of these same people SOLD their free tickets on Ebay..........................
The townsfolk payed in taxes, of course........................

Anyhow, the results, (for me), were a few odd images. The first of these, "balloon girl" is here: Big Grin

hey Rufus great shot ...........just one thing, could have used a bit of fill flash on her face..........hehehehe Wink
This would really be a super photo if you cloned out the tether wire or hid it somehow. That would give it a fantasy sense of danger.
Neat shot, Rufus. I like the composition with the trees and the balloon. The subject dead center works extremely well here. Funny, in most of my pictures it doesn't. :/
Very nice picture Rufus! I also like the composition.... I wouldn't like to be in the place of the girl. Smile
Ok, thank you folks!

It gets worse....................

Imagine this horrible hooting noise.................... A hissing public address system announces the "water music" written specially for this event, and then.... :o :o :o :o

THIS! Big Grin

Yes playmates; it's a hippy playing a flute via a radio link.

Rolleyes

People, giant birds and dogs were bemused...................
This is the first time I see something like this. I can't imagine how this is moving....Very interesting Rufus...

Very nice capture in the last one Smile
from ballon girl to bubble bloke........that would have been something to see. Great shot the first thing to pop into my head was a song........ sing it ( whats it like inside the bubble? does your head ever give you trouble?) LRB

any way you might have to be an aussie to understand I dont know if the song was big over your part of the world!

Cheers
No. I dont think I've heard it before.

The whole show was bizarre, that's for certain! :o
Rufus, I was being a bit cryptic with the lyrics, this may help or maybe not the songs is: Help is on its way....by the Little River Band

Sorry off topic :|
Interesting "arts" event.. more like a display of crazy inventions... Big Grin

I like your shots, Rufus - the baloon girl is spot on, and the bubble man is very interesting.

I wonder what it's like riding inside that bubble thing... Big Grin
