Don, I like the graphical nature of this shot, with the big bold strips of color and the weightiness of the dark building (pool?) at the bottom.

The way you positioned the "swoosh" leads my eye into the frame, then up to the slide and finally - whoops! - down the slide and into the trees. I also like the positioning of the slide against the right edge - it adds to the thrill of the ride and the sense that something's not quite right. This is a fun image with a sense of humor. I'm not sure the business owners intended it that way, but to me that's how you've presented it and I think it works well.

I'd probably rotate it slightly so that the top of the building is perfectly level, which I think would add to the graphic appeal of the image. Presently it tilts slightly down to the right.

Thinking about it, this would make a great commercial shot if you had a stunt model sliding down the slide with his arms raised high, heading out of the frame into the unknown... Smile
Thank you slej for your eloquent critique. You are right. That is certainly worth doing.

I agree with Mitch on what he has said. The building being shadowed and dark does give the impression that it is indeed a pool. I didn't notice the slide being the wrong way around until Mitch said something about it. I personally might of done some cheating and edited the slide so that it was facing the other direction. so to give the impression that the building really was a pool. Still, all in all it is a decent shot of an interesting subject.
Thank you Petographer. I appreciate your comment.

I like this very much, this is fun with just a hint of irony. Smile

I also would recommend to remove the slight tilt, but I'd leave the slide as it is. (Sorry Colin!) Have you tried to lighten up the building just a bit? I don't know if this would work out well, but I would give it a try, because the contrast is a bit hash. Anyway, good job, Don!
This is a good picture.... In all your comments you were talking about "the building" and I was just wondering but where is the ***** building??? I can't see it.... Just G explain it to me... I thought all the time it was a real pool.... Rolleyes

Good one Don!!
Thanks Irma. I just liked the abstract shape of this.

Minimalist - 2D. This works on a number of levels. I like the control that you have exerted over your vision on this one. I particularly like the little wisps of clouds that are dribbling into the pool.
Thanks Toad
