Was resting on the grass outside our apartment (and yes i live in a shoe box) :-)

Looked up and saw these umbrellas, thought they would make a nice picture.

Not what i saw in my mind, but here it is.

Comments and critique most welcome.

Brilliant colour! The only thing I might do is crop it at the left umbrella leaving just two then clone out the bit of satellite dish that is protruding into the frame.
You know this is an interesting photo. I really think the electronic gizmos give it a little hard contrast and add interest. The lower couple of terraces that have no unbrellas can be cropped, however.
Thnx guys for the comments and the tips.

A tighter crop would make the image more appeling for sure.

Thnx for looking.

here is re-worked version. (also changed the contrast to get a litte more detail in the umbrellas.)

improved ? (think i overdid the cropping in @ the bottom. lose the perspective of the image) oh well ill have another go tomorrow to tired now Smile . I realise i probebly should have posted this in the critique section. sorry.

I like this one very much. Great one Paul. Most of us here at Shuttertalk offer hints or tips on photos posted in the "Photo showcase" forum without intention of being too critical.I hope that doesn't bother you. I have found though if critique is really what you are looking for then the "Critique forum" is where you'll get the tougher opinions.
Just thought I'd mention that because nobody wants to offend the other by offering critique in the shared forum. I hope you are ok with that. If not just let us know. We'll be gentle. Smile
I think this crop is too tight. I like the several parallel lines of terraces.

I like the first one, Paul. The juxtaposition between the satellite dishes and the umbrellas is stunning and I really like the terraces which are missing in your retake. The exposure on #1 is also more pleasing.

Are you a pro, Paul?
Hi guys

Petographer:
I have no problem at all with the helpfull advice your giving, im thankfull. i just thought that since i altered the image after posting it might belong in the critique forum. (since its obviesly wasnt a finaly image) Big Grin

so im more then ok with the critique, that shalf the fun Smile

Don:
Yea i think the perspective is lost in the second one aswell, the simplicity of the 2 umbrellas and the blue sky is kind of appelaing aswell tough.

Toad:
By no means, im merely an amateur at this stage, the goal however is to make a living out of my hobby one day. Have my first wedding in 2 weeks. Tongue

Thnx all

Wonderful vibrant colour, Paul, and I love the perspective. The 2nd try certainly loses this sense of perspective, which is a pity.
g'day Paul,

I really like your first one also............. the contrast is great. My crop suggestion would be take the pillar to the right out and one terrace up from the bottom.............but hey as I said the first one thumbs up!
thnx russt and ST

íd its safe to say the first shot is more appeling to the eye Wink (due to the perspectivev)

thnx for looking guys.
