From a critique perspective, there is nothing interesting about this picture. Sorry Don. Its almost like the shutter accidently went off.
I like it - the hands and crossed legs show tension - balanced with the negative space.
I like the tones too, if not the way I feel it has fallen on it's side.
hmmm. Contraversy, I love it.

How about if I add the poem:

Adds a whole new element. Love it now.
Ah thank you Jerry. That feels very good.

Hi Don.
I realy like this image it has a lot of impact.
The woman seems to be suffering in an impersonal institution of some sort. She is ignored, even by the viewer.
I hope you don't mind but I gave it a treatment to highlight her plight.
P.S. I expect few people will like this version, but it's just how I see it.
Interesting, Bingle--how did you do this?

in photoshop...
I opened the image and copied it in to a second blank image of the same size.
Converted it to gray scale, and then to bitmap (using a round halftone screen).
I then copied it back to theoriginal as a layer.
Then on the dot layer i masked out the woman and set the layer style to darken.
I then inserted an gradient map (black-green) adjustment layer between the original and the dot layer and gave it the same mask as the dot layer.
i like the original, so tense and scary, almost like undercover photography of raw emotion
Agreed - in my view the original is the best - still great variations all around.
Thanks guys. I like the original too. The poster with the poem is the one I framed.
