Hello
I am a keen amateur photographer myself as well as being a retoucher.
I have recently designed my first website that showcases my retouching portfolio. The retouching styles vary from an over done look as on the Dior adverts, to a more realistic style. Please have a browse and let me know your thoughts:

Shellby, you are clearly good at what you do, but
personally, (and it is ONLY my personal perspective), I dont like artificially smoothed skin on women. Doesnt look right. I much prefer the "girl next door" look. But, I'm British, old fashioned, ageing, and not-quite-human.

LOL
Well as a photographer I would not be inclined to retouch my personal photographs. This is more for the likes of Advertising Agents, Graphic Designers, Magazines and so on...
No, I understand. It makes judging an image difficult for a non pro though, (I think), when the picture is not wrong, but not to the viewers personal liking.
Like music really. It's harder to say "that's great" about a style we dont particularly like.
Mind ewe, this is jus' me barking. I dare say others will be along within 24hrs who will see things quite differently.
Anyhow, welcome! Tell us more of yourself, 'eh?

G'day Shellby - welcome!
I am very impressed by your work - and really enjoyed browsing through your portfolio. Can't speak for others, but personally, anything which makes people look even more appealing (as long as it looks realistic and isn't over the top) is good in my books. I like especially the first photo in your portfolio - how the blemishes on the skin have been made better.
I think your work is great. Not overdone like the one that StudioJ recently linked to. Good job retaining skin texture without making the subjects look plastic.
I have a fashion photographer based in New York who has sent me some great images to work on! He is also starting out and works as an assistant at the moment. He had a shoot with Madona recently...

Cool... tell us more!

Well as soon as I upload the images to my site I will let you know. I have done one photograph so far and it took me 3hrs 10mins. :|
Will keep u posted

VERY impressive, particularly the eye work.
Very nice work. I know how difficult it is to retouch flesh properly - so as to not appear artificial.
I am particulalry impressed by # 1,2,7, and 11!
Great work Schell.
