Rockin' Zig!
I'm curious how you recorded the guitar track - mic'd amp? DI to mixer and/or modeler? TIA,
I'd recognise that Zig sound anywhere!
Funniest thing is, when Zig was here at the Kennel a short while back, he played NN's Strat in a very casual sort of way, and was still stunning. You kind of expect studio work to be quite a lot better than "in-the-living-room-with-a-practise-amp", but this guy just sits down and plays.
Brilliant.
I wish he and Alan E, (who makes the FX pedals), could meet. Blimey, that'd be staggering!!!! :o
Ta for listening there Slej; I love it when folks ask too!
It was: Les Paul plugged into input of a Behringer V-Amp2; balanced cable from V-Amp to PCI soundcard input. And that's it. I use Cakwalk Sonar for the sequencing, mixing and FX, and Ozone mastering software. I recorded it in 24bit. That Behringer V-Amp2 does a very good job indeed with overdrive; if I remember rightly, I think I just used a preset patch modelled on an Engl amp. Any reverbs or other FX I generally add in software now.
If I'm playing live, I only use my real amp's valves and a wah.
Bless you as ever for your encouragement Rufus.
Thanks Zig. I have a Pandora, similar to the V-Amp, but am struggling to get a good tube-like overdriven tone like you have achieved. Will keep plugging away.

Pandora? Who makes these btw?
I just came to this corner because of your ad in the General Talk
Wow!! Great!! I have heard your three files and I like them a lot
Sorry Zig I don't ask about details but I don't know anything about music... I just listent to music ... I am unable to play an instrument... but I admire a lot who makes music... Thanks for sharing

I will also download and listen to these when my new PC is in business. Sound card currently migrating to the new creation...
