I spotted this beehive high up on a dead tree while doing some research into some old ruins. Cheers Raoul

cool. Is that selective colouring, or just a grey tree?
That is wild! Can you get a closer shot? a macro would be stunning of the honeycomb. I know that might be asking a tad much though. Big Grin

Really, Colin! Would you climb up a dead tree with your camera gear to get in touch with a swarm of wild bees? Big Grin

Great shot, Raoul! Hope you were in a safe distance! Smile

hi guys, yes thats the trees original color, and no i don't feel like climbing a 20ft tree to get stung by a few thousand bees, but i do agree with you it would make a good macro shot. These Rainbow lorakeets were also on the same tree but right on the top branch. Cheers Raoul Big Grin

You wouldn't happen to have been at Bold Park (on Ocean Reef Rd) would you???

I've been there a few times now and the wildlife, mostly birds, is amazing!!

Love the photos, I can't seem to get my birds "really" in focus...any pointers????
Hi Mez, no this was shot at Birba Lake on the opposite side of the main facilities, its a nice walk through the natural bush there, though i wouldn't recomment it in the summer when the tiger snakes become active.
As for shooting i leave my camera in auto mode, it does all the work and the pics come out good 99% of the time.
Thanks for the tip on Bold park, i will take a trip out there during the week.
Cheers Raoul. Wink
