This time I went for a different hue in my conversion and I worked a soft effect as well. The background is a bit dark... but I think it is working well...

Wow Irma, that is STUNNING!!
I think the dark background really makes your subject stand out and I love the soft focus effect.
Beautiful. I'd love to have that blown up huge and hanging on my wall!
It's a great idea and a lovely flower. I'd like the see the highlights enhanced a bit to bring out the striations in the petals.
Wow, looks very ethereal! Great work! What did you do to achieve the effect?
Thanks for your comments
ST It is just a sandwich layer the one in the middle is blurred and the one on top is changed to overlay... you reduce the opacity in these two layers to your liking ...
Thanks Mitch for your advice I worked with levels a bit and I got this...

Great shot Irma, I prefer the second version

Very nice Irma. I also like the 2nd version.

I also prefer v.2

Thanks for your comments

I will leave v2 in my gallery...
They're both very nice; I can't decide which treatment I prefer.
... on both of them, though, I find that my eye keeps resting on the bright section at the bottom of the frame. The leading line of the stem is just too effective. I like the background, but that one spot is too strong.
Thanks Matt for your comment
I thought about that light while I was working on my conversion but I really didn't know what to do with it... I thought it would be seen that I messed with the background if I cloned it ...
