Had some problems getting usable images on this trip to the old fort at St Augustine, FL, because it was not only godawfully hot but the sun was unmercifully bright.
I caught this shot of reenactors marching up the stairs to fire the cannon. What do you yall think? I kind of like it, but I think the composition left something to be desired.

The composition would of been a little better if you had not chopped there legs off. The metering with black in bright sunlight has to be horrible to figure out.

Yeah, hindsight and all that...

Problem was, it was so hot I only took along one lens into the castle and it turned out not to be wide enough for this shot...
I agree with Craigs comment about the legs. I think you could likely brighten the darker area by using the shadow/highlight tool in PS.
Hot can be a problem, I was in Sacramento last week-end before last and my lens got so hot in the sun the damn thing stopped auto-focusing... missed a lot of shots because of it.
I think the exposure is fine, considering the conditions. Ditto about the legs, but that's just being picky. I like it!
