We to an industrial area in Moelln, and I worked a bit with composition...

Thanks a lot for your comments... Smile

I like the overall composition, Irma. I think it would have been stronger if I could see where the bottom right pole (or whatever it is) connects to the main body of the machine..... i think. You wouldn't want to crop too much lower though because you might loose the nice triangle your getting there.
I like your abstracts and I also like it when artists attempt to reveal hidden forms in everyday subjects. This is the difference between "looking" at something and "seeing" something.

In this image, the first thing my eye is drawn to is the upper reel of cable. Stark black on blue - the silhouette reveals everything that you need to know about the subject. I follow the black lines to the lower reel - this one is concealed somewhat by the tubing that extends downwards to the left, and the visual flow is broken by this - particularly as the tubing seems unresolved - it doesn't seem to go anywhere.

Then I look over at the cab of the machine (on the left), and it looks disjoint, without any line physically connecting it to the rest of the photo. This separateness is emphasized by the fact that it is not a completely black silhouette like the rest of the photo, but has different tones and light patterns.

To bring this image together, you need to recrop to reveal the connection between the cab and the "unresolved" tubing. That will supply context for all the visual elements, and also greatly strengthen the visual triangle that is the fundamental form of the image.

Thanks Schell and Toad for your comments, I appreciate them very much.... Smile

Unfortunately what you see in the picture is what I have... I started taking details of the machine, specially the reels. My first idea was just to have the reels in opposite corners joined by the cables... and I have some pictures like this, then I thought if I added the top of the cab I would give some more information, and the reels wouln't be lost... I thought adding the top of the cab opposite to the lower reel it would make the relation.... I didn't want to add more of the machine in the picture because I was affraid to lose my subject (the upper reel) and the cab would be competing strongly... Now I see the picture from a different point of view, thanks to your comments and yes, I need a connection to join the parts...

I will go and I will try again... I took all my pictures with the 50mm lens... I will give it a try with another lens as well.
I think this could still be a great photo if you cloned out the cab.
