Here's some fun photos of my sis that I took on the weekend. I decided to add a 'glowy' effect just to make them more ethereal- is it too over the top?

Thanks for looking!
The first one is absolutely magical - I love her pose and the "innocent" stare...
I like what you've done with the last shot too - and the glowing wings.
hi
i like the first and last one from your series, the rest....uuhmm looks a bit out of focus, uuunmm maybe is my rented monitor?
the first one...i think it could just be a bit better if you have used a reflector on the right side just to give a bit more details.

I'm with the others, first and especially last are the best of the bunch. The middle too look a little hot from the preocessing.
Great series.
Thanks for the critique guys, I think my post processing went a little overboard!
I can definately say that no. 2 is out of focus, but I'll post the original no 3, and please tell me if you still think its out of focus, thanks!
and I did a quick levels adjustment on the B&W:

and here's 2 more of my favorites from the same day, (these ones are SOOC)
Thanks for looking

Following the critiques you have received on your pictures, I think you have done a very nice work in your last post of the B&W picture...
Thanks for posting your pictures and the critiques... I am learning a lot ...
I love the 2nd one of the new 2, great selective focus.
Of the original #3 I do think it is a little soft.
hi
i think from the all lot i like the last one. simple and a nice smile.
the b/w i think still you can get a bit more out of it.
sorry for posting in here...

uuhmmmm
uhmmm sorry but my monitor is not working properly...not sure if i got what i wanted from the first b/w... wanted to show a bit more of the hair and ribon.
I really like your last posted image. Very nice. The others do have blowouts that are severe and a little too soft and the b&w is too dark for my liking. However, the adjusted b&w is much better.
Thanks for your comments Irma and Craig, I do think that the last shot I posted was the shot of the day- and hey, if I get one great shot and 30 odd bad ones, its worth it! I'm doing some portraits for my brother's family on the weekend so hopefully I can keep in mind everyone's comments while I'm shooting.
Byrt, thanks for playing with the photo. I do find your adjustment a bit to pixelly for my liking- it was a tad underexposed to start with so I don't think there is enough information to go as light as you would like. But thanks anyway! I'll be sure to spot meter her face next time/or use a reflector to brighten it up a bit.
Yes, Colin, your quite right. I have to be more concious of the hots spots as I'm taking the photos I think. As for the softness, well, I was having a ball with the f/1.8! I'm sure the novelty will wear off soon

I agree. She looks very natural there.
Also really like Byrt's minimalist crop. Interesting idea.
