This is an image that I took about a year ago at old Steveston Village. After reviewing it again I had more interest in it now than I did then so I ran it through some processing and came up with this final image.

Comments always welcome. Smile

Your post processing in this one is superb!! Smile
I really don't know what to think about the leafless tree in the background... I find it a bit distracting... but it might be just me...

Beautiful picture, Colin Smile
Hmmm, you might just have a good point about that tree Irma. Thanks for your comments. Smile
This reminds me of a Picture I once took in school, But Mine was a small Abandond house behind a Disused shop about to be bulldosed. It looked very similare to this.
I agree with Irma, The Leefless tree's and srubs seem to take away the impact of the Photo.
But I like the Concept.

I had the very same problem in my image.

Dan
I opened it up in photoshop again and removed the leafless tree and did not like what I saw. There was too much bare space above the house. This was taken in the late fall on a small waterway next to the Fraser River. As you can see the house is moored on pilings. It is just that right at the time I took the photo the tide was down.

How about removing all the trees, and putting in some fluffy clouds?
Sometimes it happen to me the same in some pictures. There are some objects in the image you think they are distracting, and when you remove them... They don't look the same and something is missing... My explanation to this is that one has been there, saw the scene, worked with a picture and when you remove something important from the picture... in this case a big tree... and you see it again... your brain says... this is wrong... something is missing... Well, perhaps not a scientific explanation but somehow I think it works like so... Smile

Any way your picture is great and I like it... I never would have guessed that sepia and this "guinda" cherry ?? color worked so well together...
Thank you very much Irma. Your explanation sounds right to me. I 'll still try Julians suggestion. Smile
