Nice as a group, but I especially like the rocks. It's the most interactive image to my eyes.
Superb series!! #1 has a somewhat blown highlight, but is still probably my favourite. 1st class!!
I like the rocks and buttons. With the buttons there is too much shadowing as the light looks like it's directly from the right. Illuminate them all and I'm sure there will be more vibrant colour.
Thank you all for your comments, I was using window light, coming from the left and a reflector on the right, probably a light source from above would've lit the buttons better.
I like very much #4. I contrast you have with curves and stright lines is very nice... and the color is lovely...
hi

i am not much of a pattern person but what i like to do is isolated my things if i shoot something like that. i really like the first one as it shows some depth.

loove the last one, the colours.

nice

#1 for me, followed closely by the rocks...

Fantastic how interesting the different patterns and textures around our home look close up...
Thanks Irma and Jules

Christian, I'm not quite sure what you mean...

hi

sorry about that..... to isolated one object such one button or one drop.

but that just me

christian
oh okay, how do you do that? do you mean focusing on one button or drop? I don't think I could get close enough to focus on just one. The drops one was f/1.8 but the buttons were f/11 so I guess I could've opened up more...
To me, a picture of patterns is best when it is sharp, and to have the same repetition in form and/or colors... But as I said it is what I think about patterns.... your #1 picture would have had more impact on me if I had seen all the drops sharp and a blurred background...

IMO, the buttons and the stones picture are not exactly pattern pictures... your stone picture is a very nice and interesting picture to work with textures... and the buttons picture to work with colors placeing the yellow buttons in strategic places to make your eye move all over the picture following the bightest color.... and I think the best way is as you did it, showing all subjects sharp... But then again... aren't textures related with patterns? Of course it is...

I think very much depend on you style, Schell... and what each of us thinks about what patterns means and the way to express it... I appreciate very much this series of pictures, as your very own style of presenting patterns...
