Taken from my parent's garden on the weekend...
I think this was the only good one out of about 20 - it was a pretty hit and miss affair. Either the flower was in focus, or the bee... hard to get both... but finally got this one.

Actually, here's a crop:
What do you think?
Wow!! This is the only thing I can say...
It is pretty difficult to catch them flying... you did it quite well, ST. The cropped works beautiful with nice composition
We spent hours this summers with this subject "flying bees"and I caught just a
bumblebee because they are not so fast...
J:
The cropped version works best. Great capture, and sharper than the uncropped version appears. I presume this is your 55-200 at full zoom...yes?
Thanks! It's my 18-55 at full zoom + me leaning in as close as I could... I think.
Parts of the bee (such as the head) looks incredibly sharp in the full version my computer, which doesn't quite translate to the smaller version...

must try tweaking settings a bit.
What reflexes. This photo is actually an athletic performance.
hi
is this the photo critique....
ok...
here i go
love the colours and the subject but......
1. the bee is out of focus
2. i think a tighter crop could be better as the leaf on top are still a bit distracting.
3. the bee is flying out or in. it looks like it was just stuck there.
uuuhmmm i have tryed to do something with it....but not sure looks like i went a bit too much with my highpass..anyway this is what i was talking about.
i hope it helps, i am very sorry if i am very straight, i hope i have not offende you in any way. hope it help my point of view. thank you for sharing

Haha, thanks for the tips and comments...
You'd think that it would be relatively simple capturing a pic of a bee and a flower... but the bee kept buzzing in and out of the flower, and not to mention the wind blowing the flower around.
hi
yes it is very dificult.....tryed butterflies. it is a nightmare
hehehehe

Very vibrant colours and I love the close crops!
Maybe next time I'll try manual focusing... instead of having my AF hunting between the bee and the flower..

G takes this pictures with manual focus, and I can't... Maybe I haven't practice much...
BTW butterflies are easier to me, specially if you have a bush where they have a lot to eat and be busy...
Looking forward to seeing more bees... ST I like a lot these pictures because it makes me very happy to see that the photographer got something that he certainly worked a lot for it...
