I love these tree pics, Irma. I think you've got a good eye. These solitary trees make great subjects, and especially with the second one - I like how you've used the rolling ground too add layers and depth to your pic. Great job...

I agree, the second shot is visually stunning. The contrast between the tree, the hills and the tracks in the snow... Well done.

Both are incredible IRma, love the post processing and composition on them.

Oh yes; Zig very much likes number 2, right up his street! Composition, movement, balance...and the slow curve of the lines really convey a contemplative feel. Lovely Irma; another of yours to which I will surely give a repeated viewing!

Thanks a lot for your commnets
I like the first one because of the tree... I think it looks beautiful... and the second one becuase as you said the rolling ground that made layers... and the post processing in this one... It was a bit soft but I let it rest a bit and then I decided to remove the blurred layer and just leave it as it is... Btw... those were taken with the ZF20..... I think this camera works much better when there is not too much contrast of colors or light and shadow...
Well, I think those will be all my winter pictures at the moment, because the landscape is so similar all around...
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all that I will take a break for the next two weeks more or less.. I have a lot to do at home before we go to Munich, and I really can't concentrate on my pictures as I like...
See you before Christmas, anyway...
Irma.

Looks like you got the same amount of snowfall as we did. These are wonderful photos Irma. As said, you chose the rolling hills and stand alone tree perfectly.

Both superb! #2 faintly better composition-wise - but you should be proud of both.

The second one catches your eye accentuating the rolling hills, the sepia tone is very appealing..
Beautiful area you live by!

It is a Weeping Willow, Rene... This year I missed to take more picture during the seasons... the times I was there the sky was not beautiful for a picture...

The diagonal along the bottom of the frame in number 1 works nicely and of course the tree is beautiful. Number 2 is a really nice composition.
