the whole door looked pretty plain, but i liked the way the light fell across the locks at the bottom.
the light looks beautiful outside the door, but it won't do any good unless you let it in.

Hi Patch, some very dramatic and harsh lighting you've used - it creates a lot of interest in the photo. I think I would have liked to see more grain in the wood of the door, and also more of the locking mechanism in the bottom right. the 2nd one is obscured by shadow unfortunately.
Just my 2c...
Yes, I wonder if backing off by 2 stops and reducing contrast would help the grain? That and a judicious crop would perhaps increase the impact, as the theme/intent is a powerful one.
I like it. Blown whites and all.

thanks for the feedback guys. come to think of it now, the whites do appear to be a tad blown out.
