Hey guys,
I want to print this photo to hang in my bathroom. Irma thought it needed more contrast (and I agree).
How is this?
I just don't want to go too far in the other direction, KWIM?
Increased Contrast
Original Edit

I prefer the original, much more natural looking.
hi

It's a quick adjustment what I did with the original... When I want to increase a bit the contrast and warm a little my picture I copy my layer background and turn it into sepia... the process you want to use is ok.... it is much better if this is a bit more contrasting... so I work with the color picture with contrast only and then with gradient map I have a gradiente to trun my picture sepia... merge these two adjustment layers and make a copy....
In this case I have the top layer blurred 30% blent to soft light and opacity 60%, next layer down is just normal sepia not blurred... reduce opacity to 10% blend mode normal... with this layer you will give the contras in the dark parts and in the layer on top you will give the contrast with the light... If you want to preserve the color of the eyes just erase the sepia layer and you will bring back the blue color...
I really don't know if there is another way to do this or if it looks nice but I like it... It makes your picture warm, and I have tried a print using this post processing and the picture turned out great...
This is my try
Note:
Forgot to say that if you want to preserve the white color you might like to make a mask of the white color and add a cyan photo filer ... very low %, or if you want to warm a little more the overall of the picture an orange or sepia filter works nice too...
irma niiiceeeee...have a great new year

Hey Schell,
A lovely shot to have in your bathroom
Here's my go at it:
I added 3 layers:
1. A Tone Curve to bump up the contrast a little, mainly lightening the highlights (deliberately blowing detail in the bathtub). This was applied to the whole image (although I would've masked out the eyes and teeth if I was doing this to a high-res image).
2. A second Tone Curve layer significantly brightening the mid-tones and light shadows, with a layer mask to apply it to only the eyes and teeth.
3. A Hue/Saturation layer to bump up the saturation a bit in the skin-tones, yet desaturate the wall behind junior. I then blended out some of the layer mask to reduce the effect of this layer on his cheeks and around his mouth.
Hope you like it.
And Happy New Year to you all!

Very nice pp Adrian... my baby looks a bit pale now ....

Thanks everyone, all your efforts are wonderful!!
Byrt, Yes I think he has spagetti for dinner that night

You'd think with him being in the bath and all that I might actually get a shot of a CLEAN face for once!!
Happy New Year to all!
