Beautiful pictures Jules... The light is great. I also agree with Matthew's comment about your Dad's picture... It would have been really interesting the difference... That chololate fountain looks gorgeous and yummy...
Patch your picture looks great! I admire and love the bokeh you got!! It is wonderful
We had a sunny day!!!

So I went to the lake... I worked in the assignment and I got this...

Thanks all for the comments! Yeah, I did get one with the chocalate in focus and my dad out of focus, but he wasn't looking at the box in that one...

I got it just in time to add my picture to the assignment....
My first robin

Hey, lovely picture, Irma! The robin is beautiful, and the blurred out of focus background is just great! It's interesting, yet doesn't compete with the main subject. I like the stones and snow? on the rail as well...
Thanks ST... I am very happy with my pictures... he stayed there very long... and walking around so I got nice pictures
There is an old bench in the garden... I removed the snow and spread seed from the bag... thinking that if they ate from there I would have better background and the feeder wouldn't be distracting... I am very happy because my pictures are not blurred... we were -5°C when I took my pictures... I was really freezing, but the best of all was that it was sunny...

That's a really nice robin. It's still well below freezing at home, and a nice sunny mid-teens here... but no robins.

There'll be a new assignment soon, but they never really end. If you have a picture to share, or if you're looking for a reason to take a different photograph, they're always here.
We're two posts away from equalling the number of messages in the B&W assignment. Too bad I don't have a camera handy...
That's a great photo Iram (the robin), lovely!

Thanks Matthew... I really like the focus assignment... I got a picture the other day, but my composition is not so good... I will try again then
Thanks NN, Matthew for your comment on my picture...

Is that really a Robin? German Robin I suppose huh? Nice photo Irma. We have 100's of these little black capped chickadees eating from our feeders. I had one of Tasha watching but it did not come out right. I'll have to try again.
It would be great if you posted one of your robins... I searched for images of the canadian robin, and it looks very different... and I think a bit bigger...
I have seen pictures of this birds from UK and they are the same, just a bit more redish and greenish in the dark part but the same shape and size...
Also could be that this is a female... because it is beautiful

Yes Irma I'm sure

.
I have no Robin shots. I suppose I could post the one shot Of Tasha but is is below (my) standards. Be right back!
Ok then. Here we are. I did manage to improve on it a little. The colour was waay off and was very noisy. This is my "Focus" submission. Tasha Focused on the Chickadee.

But this is beautiful Colin...
My dear Tasha... long time without seeing her... She has grown some nice fur

The same as Lucky...
Your picture is a great addition to the assignment

Thanks Irmas. She is pretty squishy soft.

Playing indoors
I would have liked to have the tip of the leaf sharp but... I liked so much the reflection in the droplet with the lamp and the window that I left it like this...
This was taken with the 70-200mm and the extension tube so I could have in focus all flowers...
![[Image: _DSC7377-01cacerola.jpg]](http://www.shuttertalk.com/forums/images/upload/_DSC7377-01cacerola.jpg)
Wow! First image is very cool. I would have cropped the right side to remove the empty space. As far as the tip being in focus I wouldn't worry about that. The drop draws every bit of my attention. The flowers are well done and very nice also.
Thanks Colin
I was unsure about the crop in the first one... Nice you made the suggestion

Here's a few taken recently that I think make good use of focus:
(and yes, for the last image, the woman in the pool both knew that she was being photographed and gives her permission to use the image. She's my Editor-in-Residence, and the pool was otherwise empty on a weekday morning.)
you have a pool at work?!?
Wow Matthew! That third image is amazing! Very good use of framing...
Great photos Mat. As said of the third, great framing. Poor poor cat in the first. Must be a fighter or has has his ears frozen.

Thanks very much.
I've had the luxury of being on vacation recently. Not only do I not have a pool at work, I don't even get an ocean view.
Hey I found one in my collection taken not too long ago...
No post processing apart from resizing...

Not even lake onterrible?
Great candy shot Jules. Now I'm craving.
