Here's a shot I took today to use as a desktop wallpaper.
I like these kind of abstract shots (technically extract shots I guess) for wallpapers - they aren't too distracting with icons and windows on top of them.
I normally don't include text, but this shot was crying out for something to make use of that horizontal line... and supporting some text gives it a good excuse to be there.

28mm, f/1.8, 1/1000th sec, 200 ISO. The shot itself is of the wooden floor in my kitchen with some sunlight coming in through partly-closed vertical blinds in the background.
